Captain Tom

I realized I didn't really have a good shot of Tom -- just the first one and that's of his back. This is from a set of proofs for a brochure or some marketing material, probably around 1986.

The Altstadt, Drupa 2000

Dave is convinced that this is Drupa 1995, I'm not sure sure; I think it's 2000. Regardless, I'll let Dave tell the story: "The other photo was taken down in the old town, Schlosser Alt, and there appears to be three rabbits and an 'alien' to the right of John Svinicki ! Don't know who is the guy in the dark coat [Dean Grimm]. I think we all must have some 'schnapps' as John is the only one who appears to be upright!"

Harlequin dinner at IPEX

Dave says this was a dinner somewhere in Birmingham arranged by Harlequin during the IPEX show. Left to Right: Dave, Mark Ford!, me, Jim, Scott, (not sure, Dick?), not sure, Dick Tibbits, Ian, Lisa, Ethan Edwards and Brent Tennefoss.

Drupa 95

I saw Dave last week and he promised a few photos he had stashed away. This was taken at Drupa in 1995. Doug (then with triple-I), Karen, Dick and Dave.

John and Steve

I found a bunch of contact sheets from some company shoot. Here are a couple of prizes: John and Steve dressed up.

The new Xitron

Al, Tom's partner / salesman, showing off the construction sign in front of the building and land that Tom bought for the 1428 East Ellsworth building. Business must have been pretty damned good at this point. This was even before the heyday of the XM-16. We were in this building until 1994. When he sold Xitron, Tom kept the building and later C-Text was in it and now it's owned by some pig farming, bio-tech company.

Betty

Betty made cables and for the first 10 years of Xitron's existence cables were a big part of the magic. Betty was a wonderful person, I doubt anyone ever had a bad thing to say about her. A whole army of her daughters worked at Xitron at various times.

Company photo

Company photo from around 1985, pre-Svinicki, since the guy he took over for is in the front row at the right. I worked with about half these people: Terry and Betty, second and third from the left, front row; Jessie, Captain Tom, second and fourth back row; Carol, Bruce and Bonnie back row at the right.

Dano

True, not a Xitron employee, but Dan Goldman did a lot for us. This is at Ifra in Amsterdam with a service engineer from the Triple-I offices in the UK.

Wendy Treichel

Wendy did our marketing from about 1992 to 1995. She is either moving out of her office on Ellsworth or into the new one on Plaza Drive, so this is 1994.

Mr. G

Here's Tom's right hand man for more years than either can probably remember. This guy was around when there was beer in the pop machine and they did shots of Cuervo at Friday staff meetings. We had the good fortune of having him around for a second stint in the late 90's.

Steve and Tom

This is the braintrust of Xitron at least through 1993. Steve and Tom at the bench at 1428.
